PRO Structures provided bespoke design services for a new low energy residential building in Hereford for Durrance Developments Limited.

This two-storey building is constructed into the hillside using Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) with blockwork cladding.

ICF external walls and retaining walls were selected to provide a cost-effective external thermal performance criteria for the building, that also enabled the developer to self build.

The (ICF) retaining walls are designed to support the building’s vertical loads, and the high-level car and van parking loads.  The low- level floor slab was formed via the installation of an insulated reinforced concrete raft foundation with the retaining walls tied into the structure.
