Farm building conversion with preserved steel frame as an exo-skeleton
PRO Structures assisted Huthwaite Freston Wright with a planning application to convert an existing cowshed into a
stunning, and unique, single-storey home.
The building’s steel frame and roof were kept on as an exo-skeleton for the new SIPS panel timber design
underneath, which was watertight in its own right.
Glosford Structures Ltd designed and installed the new SIPS building, while we designed the foundations and existing
steel frame strengthening which was required for this unique dwelling, which provides approximately 425m2 of floor
space.
