Five-bedroom mansion for Spring Homes
Construction of a bespoke detached mansion on Southfield Road for Spring Homes on the site of the former tennis courts adjacent to Redmaids School in Westbury on Trym in North Bristol was completed in April 2018. This beautiful open plan, double aspect dwelling which makes full use of natural light and creates a ‘bringing the outside in’ ambience in harmony with the environment, boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms and an integrated garage. It was designed by Angus Meek Architects and built by contractor B J Campbell (SW) Ltd.
PRO Structures provided all the civil and structural engineering designs to create this luxury home. Interesting technical challenges we encountered along the way included the need to design in an 11m3 underground surface water attenuation tank for Wessex Water SuDs drainage approval, along with the mansard roof bedroom area including a cranked steel framework to create more uninterrupted, column-free living space.
This is the second successful partnership that we have undertaken with this BJ Campbell and Angus Meek, the first being a shop conversion to residential units at 4 Hanham Road in Bristol.
