PRO Structures was appointed to design the structural works required to form a full-width opening within the kitchen of this farm house. A structural stability frame was installed to support the significant load from the thick random rubble stone wall above. The frame has been incorporated within and concealed by the kitchen island unit, enabling the space to be opened up while ensuring adequate structural support and enhancing the overall aesthetics.
