Four 2- and 3-storey town houses in Bedminster

This new development for a private client is underway, on the site of a former garage on South Road, Bedminster.

Due to poor local ground conditions, the foundations in these properties needed to be piled. PRO Structures has carried out all the sub- and superstructure design for this scheme.

Construction is currently almost complete up to damp proof course level, and the overall project value is estimated at almost £1m.

21 new  homes on Wedmore Road, Cheddar

This new development of 21, three-bedroom, three-storey semi-detached and terraced town houses is also on site, on the outskirts of Cheddar.

This site has also needed piled foundations due to poor ground conditions, which have been designed and detailed by PRO Structures with the timber framed superstructure designed by other specialists.  At the time of writing, we understand that all timber framed carcassing has been completed, with first fix roof covering and external wall cladding works in progress.

Lightweight steel roof structure designed to aid open plan mansion design

The existing dwelling on this site is making way for a substantial new two-storey house with converted loft space, featuring glazed elevations, an internal staircase with balustrades, and several large open plan spaces.

The main challenge for this project was to provide a structural scheme that supported the roof, while enabling the open plan spaces on the ground and 1st floors.

PRO Structures’ solution was to provide a lightweight steel structure at roof level, with supporting posts carefully positioned to maximise the open plan effect.

Our client on this £300k development is Accent Build, and construction has recently started on site.
